Customers in the horticulture industry will be delighted to hear about the introduction of the new 95 horsepower M96S Rops High Clearance tractor, which has been dubbed the Mudder.
There is something eye catching about the oversize wheel equipment associated with these new machines, it’s a bit like the TV show “Pimp My Ride”.
The standard wheel equipment of size 230/95R48 lifts the tractor to a massive 680mm crop clearance to the lowest point. Three different tyre combinations are available, which can be set up to common wheel track settings of 60 to 68 inch, while settings of up to 80 inch can be achieved by using the optional front and rear axle extension kit.
The tractor comes standard with a hydraulic shuttle transmission, for fast and efficient clutch less direction changes. This feature is particularly handy for vegetable farms that use nose mounted front forklifts to manoeuvre harvesting bins around.
The fully synchronised main transmission has four forward and four reverse gears, selected via an H pattern shift. Hi-Lo range is selected by a range gear lever located on the operator's left hand side. What makes this tractor a standout is the swing shift concept, which allows the operator another Hi-Lo choice engaged electronically via the main gear lever. When the gear lever passes through the neutral gate and is tapped toward the operator, another Hi-Lo range is activated. All up the tractor offers 24 forward and 24 reverse gears with the slowest creep gear running at 370m/h at full engine revolutions.
The M96S Mudder Rops is fitted with the new generation four valve per cylinder V3800 series diesel engine designed to meet Tier III standards and is rated at 95 horsepower.
The engine features a centre direct injection system, in which the injector nozzle is positioned upright in the centre of the cylinder. This way the injected fuel and suction air can be mixed more uniformly to stabilise and improve combustion performance. In other words, the engine reduces emissions, fuel consumption and noise levels which increase power output. Operator comfort is provided by a large unobstructed platform with plenty of legroom. The mechanical suspension seat with armrests and a tilt steering column make working a breeze.
The hydraulic pump produces 65 litres per minute of oil flow. A number of remote valve options are available including flow control making the tractor more productive and versatile.
The M96S Mudder tractor is only one of Kubota’s extensive range of tractors 50 to 135 horsepower.
